Healthy Lifestyles

Obesity is a serious health concern affecting children and adolescents at staggering rates. Youth today are less physically active than in previous generations. Our Clubs encourage healthy lifestyles in our members.

We help teach young people to engage in positive behaviors, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults. Activity is a key element to overall health. Our programs develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.

Programs That Work

Triple Play
improve Club members’ knowledge of healthy habits, nutrition, and physical fitness
Triple Play
Through the Triple Play experience, Club members ages 6-18 will be challenged to become healthy and active by learning new ways to eat nutritionally, manage stress, maintain physical fitness, and form positive relationships with peers. The comprehensive Triple Play initiative encompasses Mind, Body, and Soul and is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company and WellPoint Foundation.
All Stars
provide youth with a positive experience participating in various sports programs
All Stars
The All Stars program helps local Clubs implement leagues of youth football, basketball, and cheerleading for Club members ages 6-18. These sports will foster an environment where members can learn good character and team-building skills, as well as athletic fundamentals.

SMART Girls

SMART Girls
Female club members are given a safe setting in which they can address health and social issues unique to them, while building the necessary skills to resist negative influences such as drugs, alcohol, and premature sexual activity.

SMART Girls features members ages 8-17 .

SMART Girls is a health, fitness, and prevention/education initiative designed to improve girls’ self-esteem and promote healthy attitudes and lifestyles for years to come. The program is implemented in two parts:

Take Care of Your Body
Passport to Manhood

Passport to Manhood addresses critical issues that young men face during this time, such as ethics, decision-making, wellness, ideas about fatherhood, employment and careers, cooperation and conflict, diversity, relationships, and self-esteem.

This program is offered to males ages 8-12 and 13-17.
