About the Event:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County will launch its 2012 Champions for Kids Fundraising Campaign on Thursday, February 9th with the Champions for Kids Campaign Kick-Off Luncheon . The event will take place at Parkway Baptist Church, 766 E. University Drive, Auburn and will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch provided by Outback Steakhouse. The 5^th Annual Jane Walker Community Champion Award will be presented during the event. This year’s featured guest will be Former AU Athlete, Actor, Writer and Speaker Thomas Gossom, Jr. Mr. Gossom was the first African American athlete to graduate from Auburn University. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous TV series and movies including "In the Heat of the Night”, "Boston Legal”, "Miss Evers’ Boys” and "Game of Life”. He is a published writer and prolific speaker.

Reservations for the luncheon are recommended and can be made by calling 334-502-1311 or email: clubs@bgcleeco.org by February 3^rd. Lunch is $10.00/attendee and checks can be made payable to: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County.
